The Liebster Award

My sorority sister, Caroline, from This Styled Life nominated me for the Liebster Award.

The purpose of this award is to help boast fellow bloggers with under 200 followers.

If you get tagged, or feel like starting the trend for you and your blogger friends, here is how it works:

1. You must link back to the person who nominated you.
2. You must answer the 11 questions given by the person who nominated you.
3. You pick 11 nominees with under 200 followers to answer your questions.
4. You cannot nominate the person who nominated you.
5. You must tell the nominees that they have been nominated by you.

Here is what Caroline wanted to know about her lovely 11 ladies:

1. Do you have a favorite outfit memory? Hmmm. This one is tough. For big events I usually take a lot of time meticulously planning my outfit. I think the memory that stands out most is my last Red Dress Gala my senior year at FSU. I wore a BCBG gown with a slit up the left leg. This dress made me feel extremely sexy without being too much.

2. What has been your favorite fashion "score"? I don't have a favorite because I am easily tricked into buying things when they are on a temporary sale or promotion. My most recent score was a pair of polarized Ray Ban Club Masters. They retail for around $250 and I got them for $180!!! Thanks Ideeli!

3. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 5 years is tough because I usually know where I hope to see myself only within the next few months. Things happen that change the course of your life and plans you may have had. I very much so like to go with the flow sometimes. For now I hope to be living a comfortable life with my man, Victor. I also hope that with his return from deployment very soon, I will have more of an opportunity to really dive head first into blogging since my personal photographer will be back!

4. Why did you start your blog? I became EXTREMELY into watching beauty tutorials on YouTube. I still watch a bunch today. I thought hey I am pretty good at giving my opinion on products I like so why not try it out. It started out as a product review blog, but then quickly switched over to my daily outfits. I have not been extremely consistent with it as of lately, but that is all about to change :)

5. If you had to pick your favorite clothing/accessory item, what would it be and why? I call them my Jesus sandals. They're from Steve Madden and I bought them almost three summers ago when I was interning in NYC. Not only have these bad boys crushed the pavement in NYC, they have traveled with me abroad and are my go to choice of footwear. They have been through hell and high water and I will be extremely sad when they are no longer functional.

6. What is your favorite thing to cook/eat? I love to experiment in the kitchen. With my competition prep diet and eating more so out of convenience now a days I do not do much experimental cooking. I love food. I love pizza, burgers, icecream, cookies, sushi, you name it. I don't discriminate. I love all food.

7. What do you like to do when you aren't blogging? Besides being a Netflix junky, I love lifting (side note I HATE cardio...which is why I always dread the gym), and I love online shopping. I would rather online shop then go to a mall any day.

8. Is there anything you haven't done yet in life but want to? I think I have experienced a lot in my young life. Obviously the next steps I am looking forward to is having my own place, getting engaged/married, and starting a family. Obviously only one of these three options is in the near future.

9. Where do you find yourself shopping the most? ONLINE. And Vitamin Shoppe.

10. Do you prefer to dress casually or dress up? Dress up for sure. I love everything about it. The hair, the makeup, the outfit. The nails. Everything. I love getting all dressed up because I get pretty scrub-ish in the gym.

11. Which season is your favorite for fashion & beauty purposes? I honestly love them all. Each season comes and goes and I'm like oh I love winter the best...I love spring the best..etc etc. While South Florida doesn't allow much room for seasonal changes, I still love being able to play with color palettes and what not.

Here are my nominees. Some are brand spankin' new blogs while others should have way more of a cult following:

Devin from The Chokolate Doll
Brianne from Trunk Show
Wear A Wishbone
Chelsey & Megan LaRussa from Southern Soeurs
Jenna from Adorned With Love
Ashley Michelle from Ashley Michelle Blog
Pierce from Pop Of Pierce
Joleen from Madly Materialistic
Kaley from The Girl With The Bun
The Here and There
Noelle from Noelle Kramer

And here are my questions for you (this blog post is never ending btw)...

1. What is your go-to lip color?
2. If you had to get rid of everything in your closet besides one item what would it be?
3. What is your life motto or current favorite quote?
4. What is one New Year's resolution you've made that you've really been sticking to?
5. If you were handed your dream job right this second, what would it be?
6. What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning and the last thing you do before going to bed?
7. What are some of your favorite brands or designers?
8. What are your favorite beauty products?
9. If those closest to you had to pick one word to describe you what would it be?
10. What is your biggest guilty pleasure?
11. If you go fly anywhere tomorrow (let's be honest us girls need time to pack) where would you go?

XOXO

Monday Mojo: Unexpected Gifts

If you follow my Instagram account you will see I received an early Valentine's gift from my boyfriend who is currently on deployment. If you do not, you can go follow me now @Bold_andBlonde ;)

I received a new lens for my Nikon D3200. I had been sending him examples of blogs whose pictures/quality I really enjoy. He did the grunt work of researching lenses and the quality I was looking for, and wam-bam-thank-you-ma'am this beauty was on my doorstep today!

This completely unexpected Valentine's gift has inspired me more than ever to expand on this blog, and post more personal outfit posts. I have been working on slowly building up the pieces in my closet, and can not wait to show you all my new purchases--especially now!

I know you're probably reading this, so THANK YOU VICTOR! Love you more and can't wait for you to be home SO soon.

Peter Pilotto for Target

My game plan this morning with the release of the Peter Pilotto collection was to arrive at Target by 7AM, seeing as they open at 8AM. Well, plans changed when I decided there would be absolutely no line at the Target where I live. I also decided this when I woke up at 6:30AM completely out of it.

Needless to say, I was glad I slept the extra hour because when I arrived at 7:45, there was only a single car in the parking lot waiting. Score.

I was unaware that my Target would not be carrying the entire line by Pilotto. Disappointment at its finest. However, I was able to score some great multifunctional pieces!
Dress | Tank | Skirt | Blouse

There are three items I am still coveting but were not available in store near me, and were sold out online. Luckily I am currently bidding on the romper via ebay--*fingers crossed*--and my mom is currently in Orlando where the crop top is available in store! YAY! For now, I will have to love the Red Iris print dress from my computer screen.

XOXO

Monday Mojo: Leave Your Two Cents At Home

Sundays are usually left for pampering and cleaning up my room. Or laying in bed and watching endless amounts of Netflix and HBO Go. Oh, and sometimes work. I'll usually throw on a hair and face mask, and begin what I like to call 'Sunday Clean Day'.

However, it being my birthday weekend, it could not be spent at home looking like a scrub--or working. Thank G.

I ended my Sunday with a mani/pedi. If you really know me, you know I bite my nails. Constantly. It is a habit that no matter what I try I can't break. I even chew through those bitter nail polishes that are meant to deter you because they taste so absolutely wretched.

My manicurist must have been the most vocal individual on the state of my nails. I understand they are not beautiful, nor will hand modeling be anywhere in my future, but I choose to bite my nails, therefore, I know how bad they can look at times of high peak chewing. He could not shake his head enough nor stop commenting on the state of my cuticles and skin surrounding. It got to the point where I wanted to tell him to, "STFU (pardon my french to the virgin eared individuals) and finish my dang manicure." Needless to say, I will not be returning to this nail salon anytime soon.

This inspired my Monday Mojo for you all and something to practice this week. Sometimes it is best to leave your opinion at home. Will bringing someone down really make your day that much better? Will voicing your opinion on part of someone's appearance benefit your life in any way?

This man's comments did not offended me, but his behavior was disheartening. Have we become a society that is so concerned with being heard and voicing our opinions that we can't contain ourselves? It is basically the practice of a concept our parent's have harped on us for our entire lives-- if you have nothing nice to say, do not say it all.

Instead of contributing to the negativity that already runs rampant, here are, "20 Things We Should Say More Often," according to the ever inspiring Kid President.

P.S. Thanks to Alberto & Diego (Victor's Cousins) for sharing this on FB over the weekend!

XOXO
